A US map in ExpMap with states colored by experience level
01

All 50 states, plus Washington D.C.

Tap a state, pick the level that matches your trip, and the color appears. Nothing to fill in, nothing to write unless you want to.

02

More than the states I've been to

A checkmark only says you were there. ExpMap keeps the difference between a state you lived in for years and one you drove straight through.

03

Your 50 states checklist, with levels

Use ExpMap as a states checklist that keeps more than a tick: every state carries a level and a note, and the built-in state counter climbs as you color.

04

The same map, beyond the US

State and province maps cover 38 countries — Japan's 47 prefectures among them — alongside a world map of over 240 countries and regions.

FAQ
How many states have I been to?

Color each state you have set foot in and ExpMap counts them for you. Because every state also carries a level, the states you lived in stay easy to tell apart from the ones you passed through.

What states have I been to?

Open your map and the answer is right there — an interactive states visited map where every colored state is one you have been to, shaded by how deeply you experienced it.

How do I make a map of the states I've visited?

Open the US state map, choose a state and give it one of the six levels: Resided, Stayed, Visited, Landed, Passed or Unexplored. The map fills in as you go.

Which states are on the map?

All 50 US states plus Washington D.C. Each one can be colored, scored and annotated on its own.

Can I add notes to a state?

Yes. Every state takes a travel note — where you stayed, what you ate, who you met — so the map holds the story as well as the color.

Can it track visiting all 50 states?

Yes. If you are out to visit all 50 states, the map doubles as a state tracker: the count shows how far you have come, and the uncolored states are the rest of the list.

Can I share my states visited map?

Yes. ExpMap creates a share image of your map and your Exp score, so the whole picture fits in a single post.
